I finally got some pics of the Boyle School Dancers on the IsleInn Cruise this past January. Here are the Fire Solo and the Black Solo dresses in action!

There was a question on the Celtic Flame board: “…do those of you who have used the FD method feel the front skirt stands out at the bottom completely or does it tend to “wrap” slightly to the back when the dancer has her arms in place?” Both of these dresses were made with the Fesidress side tuck, not a pleat, and they work just fine. This question is also about the ever-elusive flat skirt which is just not possible on every dancer. Susan explains this well here, and I discuss other skirt issues that affect the skirt hang here.
And this is another performance dress I made for them, white lace over a pale gold glistenette.

I love the bottom dress! Well, I love them all … but that lacey one is so simple and beautiful.

stunning! speechless!
I’ve now got hair free legs and it really didn’t hurt a bit! Now i just need to learn to do Irish dancing…actually, I used to go to adult tap dancing a couple of years ago and we did some Irish and I loved it, now if I had a pretty dress like these then I’m sure I could have done it better! I remember feeling VERY hot after an irish dancing session….

I love the lace dress, too. Even tho’ I love making the stiff dresses, I think it would be so lovely if the dresses were soft again.
And Marianne, I chickened out on the waxing…the hair may be pale but I am rather furry! I have to get the guts up for the 1st waxing every spring!
I did Irish dance for a very short time after I “recovered”…did not agree with my joints. But I can & do hobble along at a ceilidh now and then. And work up quite a sweat that MUST be quenched with a beer…or 2!
